What is Dual Enrollment?
Many of our MTC high school programs offer dual enrollment opportunities for our students. Dual enrollment students take college level classes while in high school and receive college credit for their work; students remain at MTC meaning they never leave MTC to take this course on the college campus. Listed below are some important facts about dual enrollment:
- open to 11th and 12th grade students who have earned a grade of "B" or higher in their first year class.
- is "weighted grade" and can help boost your grade point average (GPA).
- weighted GPA will only be reflected at the end-of-the year report card final grade.
- often transfers to other colleges with a "C" or higher final grade; however, this is dependent upon the individual college's determination.
- can negatively impact the receipt of financial aid if a student earns a final grade of "D" or "F".
